As a parent, you want to give your children the whole world. You want to teach them all your knowledge and above all you want to give them every opportunity to succeed educationally. Yet it comes to a point when you’ve taught them everything you can. In India, sadly that point is reached rather fast since most parents’ education is limited or non-existing.  

Parents send their kids to Anganwadi centers, that they believe only exists to watch and feed their kids for a few hours. But the NGO, Rocket Learning, has changed these centers for the better, turning them into educational centers. They have a managed to create an alternative way for kids to make daily learning through WhatsApp. However, it’s hard to get the parents to fully understand the value of this initiative, as their perception stays the same.

Together with India’s largest University, Delhi University, we’ll launch Parent Masterclass: The first eligible pedagogy course on WhatsApp. Every day when parents have uploaded their kid’s homework, they unlock access to continue their own studying. The free study sessions take part in separate groups within the app. And with the help of Artificial Intelligence, Rocket Learning will be able to detect the parents’ educational level. By doing so, we can easily put together masterclasses that are on the same level education wise and offer them customized lessons. 

At the end of every course, the parents will be tested on their knowledge to receive an online pedagogue grade, valid in real life. After 12 months of studying, the attendance will receive a degree certificate, approved by the Indian government to be equivalent to a pedagogy education. If parents get to try the Rocket Learning education themselves, they’ll understand how valuable it is for the child and how important it is to start the child’s learning process early. Also if we help people on an individual level, we will automatically help society as a whole. 

It’s hard, if not impossible to make people download new apps these days. We also know our target audience has very limited data usage. To have everything easily available for all parents, our solution therefore takes places on WhatsApp only. As an attendance, all you have to do is to click on the link the teacher provides you, and you’ll be able to enter the new Parent Masterclass group.

For Rocket Learning to determine on what educational level a parent is at, an AI will be analyzing all previous chat conversations that the attendance has been part of on WhatsApp. By doing so, we’ll be able to put together Masterclasses where everyone are on the same level of knowledge. The training will last for one year, and if you've passed all the exams you'll receive a fully valid degree certificate in pedagogic, ready to be used!
