Write a short summary of what happens in the film

In school, Indian children often miss out on valuable development. At home, between Rocket Learning’s bite-sized lesson plans and a parent’s instinctive understanding of their learning styles, children are given the tools to piece it all together. In the film 'Piece It Together,' we explore the benefits of these smaller lessons given by the parent and highlight how they help shape who we are. Forms are used to represent pieces of knowledge from each lesson and throughout we visualize the direct impact a parent can have by passing it along. We’ll watch as the child absorbs each form, representing the development of their brain while contrasting their parent’s, whose forms will be not as stable. Subtly communicating that the parents don’t have to be as educated to make an impact on their child’s life. After all, Rocket Learning gives them the pieces, but only parents can help piece it together.

Background

In India, many children lack access to the right information in preschools, adversely affecting their development before entering grade 1. With the help of Rocket Learning, parents now can step in and address this gap by providing additional education at home through small bite-sized lessons and activities. However, just because they can, doesn’t mean they will – often parents feel they are educated enough to educate their children. It’s the objective of the brief to connect with these parents showing them that they have the power to make a difference in their child’s life. Proving that by actively participating in their education at home and providing small pieces of knowledge at a time, they can help their child get ahead and fully develop before they enter grade 1.

Strategy and Insight

Education is not one-size-fits-all – not everyone can learn the same lessons and the same material and understand it. Every child is unique. They learn different things, in different ways at different times. Often needing to digest smaller pieces of information at a time, rather than blanket lessons.

It’s because of this, parents play a pivotal role in their child's educational development. They instinctively possess an unmatched understanding of their child's strengths and interests - allowing them to, without even knowing it, shape the lesson or activity provided by Rocket Learning to their child’s unique learning styles. By having this deeper understanding of how their child learns, they can help make sense of it all.

With this approach, we speak directly to the parents – proving to them that with the help of Rocket Learning, they have the power to make a difference in their children’s life. Plus, we’ll show them that even if they feel they might not know as much as their children's educators – no one knows their child as well as they do.
