Background

90% of brain development is achieved by age 6, early intellectual stimulation is crucial for holistic development of a child, as is their fundamental right. And yet, 35M low income household children are unable to access quality early learning opportunities.

The aim is to create a suit of assets that prove the organisation is:

Professional, capable and committed to ensure India’s youngest children are equipped to uplift themselves, their families and communities from intergenerational learning poverty.

Culturally rooted, yet global in its knowledge of application and best practices - We need an imagery that quickly builds association and a feeling of belongingness and will help in our sustenance over the years as we become more and more central to education and nutrition of children under the age of 6.

Disruptor in the Indian ECCE space who can strategically lead Indian Anganwadi centres’ transformation into vibrant learning centres and alleviate learning poverty.

Describe the creative idea

It was important to us that the logo and mascot represented Rocket Learning’s mission - Empowering low income parents to help educate their young children, lifting them out of learning poverty.

The idea was to update the brand identity and mascot to keep it dynamic and flexible, as Rocket Learning exists on many platforms and provides wide ranging educational content. To have wide appeal to all users, while also having personality we designed Rocket- an amorphous mascot that could adjust to any subject while being relatable in his expressions.

Rocket was derived from the logo, so that the organisation's ethos was visible at all times- Rocket is a helping hand to all children, as is the logo, lifting children out of learning poverty.

Describe the execution

The logo: The logo represents a helping hand reaching out to lift up those in lower income communities, launching them out of learning poverty to their full potential by providing free and accessible education.

The Tagline: “Reaching out, lifting up”

Rocket learning reaches out to low income communities all across India through the use of the internet. Rocket learnings aim is to lift families out of learning poverty by providing free and accessible education.

The Mascot: Rocket is the brand mascot, formed from the logo. He’s an alien creature that shifts shape to be able to help with

any task the children might need assistance with.

Type: The Typeface we selected is easy to read, bold which makes it legible at a smaller scale, but due to its rounded edges and design it still appears friendly.

Colours: Inspired by Indian art and posters to keep the appearance rooted in India.
