In India, there are 1.3 million Anganwadi centers caring for women and children in 80 million low-income households. These centers were primarily seen as food providers. However, Rocket Learning is now partnering with the government in the Poshan Bhi, Padhai Bhi program to promote early childhood education in Anganwadi centers. The aim is to provide educational stimulation to young children during their phase of rapid brain development. Therefore, we aspire to change the perception of Indian mothers and encourage them to view Anganwadi as centers of learning.

By leveraging the existing religious context, we have installed Ganesha statues equipped with beacon technology at both Ganesha temples and Anganwadi centers, frequented by Indian mothers. This enables them to receive messages from Ganesha on WhatsApp, guiding them to send voice messages and pray to Ganesha online. Through capturing keywords within the voice messages, we can respond with images of Ganesha and provide customized divine voice message replies, conveying the significance of food and education. Furthermore, by employing GPS technology, we can detect users’ location and promote nearby Anganwadi centers to them, encouraging their participation in the Anganwadi WhatsApp group to gain insights into Anganwadi’s daily teaching practices for children. This transformation turns Anganwadi from a mere food provider into a space where children can cultivate health and wisdom, much like Ganesha!

Religion is important in India, with 82% of the population practicing Hinduism. Ganesha, representing wisdom and health, is the most popular deity and attracts worshippers seeking good luck. As WhatsApp is the primary communication app for women aged 18 to 35, and women often use voice messages for communication, we aim to combine their belief and WhatsApp habits to portray Anganwadi as a symbol of wisdom and health akin to Ganesha on WhatsApp. This association will help people perceive Anganwadi as a guardian that safeguards children's health and provides education.
