Write a short summary of what happens in the film

In this film, we see an Indian mother who is writing a letter to her daughter. It is about the lessons of a happy life, drawing upon the mother's own real-life experiences.

The lessons capture the challenging aspects of being an uneducated woman in rural India: arranged and underage marriage, never-ending housework, and feeling trapped in her hometown.

The narration portrays the mother's painful thoughts that, as a woman, she has limited options. She is trying to help her daughter with life lessons because she believes she has no prospects for a better life.

At the end of the film, we reveal that the situation has not happened yet: it is a scenario of their future. With an encouraging end message, we highlight that with Rocket Learning (pre-education) mothers have the power to shape their children’s future and ultimately lead them to live a better life.

Background

Situation

In India, over 40 million children aged 3–6 are unable to access high-quality education. Since 85% of brain development happens before the age of six, it is crucial to start their education journey early. Rocket Learning provides a solution for this problem, through easy to accomplish tasks, delivered in the form of a WhatsApp message.

Brief

While Rocket Learning is easy to access, only 50% of parents practicing it daily. Many mothers lack awareness and confidence - especially when they are uneducated. They feel like they can’t do it. They feel powerless. They don’t have a real, strong, unstoppable motivation to teach their children at home.

Objective

We need to motivate the parents enough, so they can overcome their lack of self-confidence. They should feel that they are in the power of becoming the catalysts of their kids’ future. The tool is already in their hands, they just have to use it.

Strategy and Insight

We have to motivate parents to start using our service, additionally the long term strategy is to make using Rocket Learning a habit that surpasses generations.

Insight: ‘As a parent, I want my child to do better than I did’

The problem comes when new generations can’t expect better living conditions than their parents. We have to break this generational cycle, so parents can provide a better life for their children. That’s why we choose women as our main target group.

(1) Mothers of today - Indian women with young children can break this cycle and (2) Mothers of tomorrow - can sustain and further propel our educational goals, because those who have received a high-quality education are more likely to prioritize education for their future children.

Our answer: We have to show mothers that with the help of Rocket Learning, they are able to break the cycle.

The traumatizing aspects of everyday life accumulated into some well meaning lessons from a mother. The child's future seems already decided. Having the same problems as the previous generations.

We believe it can provide the proper motivation while triumphing the lack of confidence for a mother to start educating her children right away.
