Overview

Background

Approximately 46 percent of Indians rely on WhatsApp for daily news, and the majority of people trust the information they receive through this platform.

WhatsApp hosts numerous groups that connect moms with each other. What better way to change moms' perceptions of Anganwadi, than highlighting it as a center of learning rather than just a place for food sharing?

Describe the creative idea

There are over 1.3 million Anganwadi centers in India. Imagine the countless number of mothers who have had the experiences to send their children to these centers.

We actively involve mothers who enroll their children in pre-school at Anganwadi as reporters, empowering them to advocate for the experiences and benefits their children gain from Anganwadi in their everyday lives. We encourage them to share their stories with the hashtag #WhatsAppenInAnganwadi across numerous mom societies on WhatsApp.

Describe the strategy

Every day, thousands of parents engage in conversations on WhatsApp, discussing various parenting topics. We can utilize this platform to help parents stay informed about their child's classroom activities and explore future educational opportunities within these parenting groups. This presents an opportunity to gather information from real users and provide valuable insights to parents.

Describe the execution

Execution

1.We recruit mothers to become child reporters, encouraging them to share their child's daily experiences, and highlighting what they show in #WhatsAppenInAnganwadi on Whatsapp.

2.Mothers join group chats to share their children's stories, they become trendsetters and create a space where they can showcase their child's achievements.

3.#WhatsAppenInAnganwadi can be shared across various platforms to foster a strong community among Anganwadi mothers and instill a sense of pride among them.
