Write a short summary of what happens in the film

We open on basic objects that can be found in a rural Indian home. A lack of resources is one of the main reasons mothers and other guardians believe that they aren’t equipped to teach their children after school. We keep showcasing the basic objects until eventually we use a school-style, flash card holding shape to tell mothers that they already have everything they need at home to teach their children basic lessons. We then offer the line, “Your home is already a classroom,” followed by “Now change the way you think about teaching.” Afterward, we invite parents to join the Rocket Learning WhatsApp group to take control of their child’s education.

Background

Indian parents who don’t have an extensive educational background don’t feel confident in teaching their kids. They face a mindset issue, based on what they feel they don’t have. We answered the brief by showing them that they have everything they need at home to teach their children. Our objective was to build their confidence by showing them that when they change their perspective and partner with Rocket Learning, their home can become a classroom because it always was one.

Strategy and Insight

Our insight was based on a quote by John Holt, who said that “Children learn from anything and everything they see. They learn wherever they are, not just in special learning places.” Our strategy was to build confidence in parents by showing them that they have everything they need in their house to teach their kids. They just need help changing their perspective by partnering with Rocket Learning. This answers the brief as it encourages parents to shift the way they think, which is the only thing holding them back from taking control of their children’s education.
