Write a short summary of what happens in the film

A barman pulls a pint of Carlsberg, distracted by the action taking place on the pub’s TV, and time stands still as we see the beginnings of celebrations among Liverpool FC fans.

Journeying through years of legendary moments for the football club, fans celebrate frozen in time, while protecting their pints from flying chips and cheering fans.

It ends with the barman 30 years on, pulling a pint in present time and still watching in awe of his team as a line appears: ‘Partners for 30 years. Forever fans.’

Accompanying the vision, a bespoke soundtrack that recalls the Merseyside sound of bands such as The Beatles and Gerry and the Pacemakers adds to the reminiscent vibe.

Background:

Carlsberg has sponsored Liverpool F.C. for that last 30 years, through thick and thin.

So the brief was to create a film that celebrated the sponsorship – the longest partnership in Premier League history. A special time in history that called for a celebration befitting the union of probably the best beer and probably the best club in the world.

However, Carlsberg sees their role as ‘fans of the fans’: so as supporters of Liverpool FC for 30 years, how could we send a message to the other supporters all around the world, who’ve been there for 30 years? The fans.

Describe the Impact:

+11 MILLION IMPRESSIONS (150% above forecast)

2.8 MILLION THRU PLAYS (Facebook)

400K YouTube Views

Campaign featured globally by consumer press inclcuding MASHABLE, BLEACHER REPORT, SPORTS BUSINESS JOURNAL, FOOTYHEADLINES.COM, GOAL.COM

Film is now used globally, across more than 30 Carlsberg markets.

Is there any cultural context that would help the jury understand how this work was perceived by people in the country where it ran?

The music is a bespoke track in the style of Liverpool’s fan bards and singer-songwriters, a nod to LFC fan culture. Recalling the Merseyside sound and featuring vocals by Chris Friffith (of ‘90s Liverpool band The Real People) lyrics mention players and moments from the last 30 years whilst summing up the relationship with a deliberate reference to ‘YNWA,’ Liverpool’s official “fanthem”.
