Overview

Background:

Brief:

Welti-Furrer is a leading company for fine art transports. Since 1838, its specialists have been transporting numerous masterpieces with utmost care. The aim of the campaign is to remind museums, galleries, curators, art collectors and artists of the brand.

Solution:

With Welti-Furrer, art goes on a safe journey. To illustrate this, we carefully packed the clothes and accessories of iconic paintings into matching suitcases. Just by looking at the suitcases, art lovers can recognize which painting is traveling.

Execution:

The paintings' clothes were tailored true to the original. The suitcases matching the epoch were found in antique shops. Photographs were taken in a soft light to reflect the visual signature of the great masters and their works.

Please provide any cultural context that would help the jury understand any cultural, national or regional nuances applicable to this work e.g. local legislation, cultural norms, a national holiday or religious festival that may have a particular meaning.

Once a year, the entire art world meets in Switzerland at «Art Basel», the world's largest art fair. It attracts around 70,000 visitors from around the globe, including the most influential gallerists, collectors, curators and artists. We used this opportunity to reach the international art community gathered in one place: with ads in those art magazines that are distributed at «Art Basel».

Describe the Impact:

The campaign reached the target group with ads in art magazines and art newspapers during «Art Basel 2023», the world's largest art fair. It attracts 70,000 visitors from around the globe.

The impact according to Markus Maushart, Managing Director of Welti-Furrer Fine Art Ltd: «We got very positive feedback from the art world, which usually has a critical view on advertising. Because the campaign was sophisticated and not sales-driven, we were able to stand out from our competitors - and be remembered as the specialist for high-quality fine art transports. Some museums even ordered the motifs.»
