To see the moon as if you were there, in real-time, 24/7 and in HD, we hooked up ONE Fibre Optic with powerful telescopes at four of the best international space observatories worldwide: Canary Islands (Spain), Queensland, (Australia), La Dehesa, Santiago (Chile) and Dubai (UAE).

Each telescope brought the Moon closer to us in a time zone, with non-stop broadcast in HD video streaming. From any device, users could control the telescope and aim it at the lunar location they wanted to explore. They could also leave their footprint on that point and upload the shot instantly to Twitter and Facebook.

Outcome

We surpassed 100,000 visits to the site.

Users spent an average of 4 min exploring the site.

Google searches for ONE topped those of our main convergence competitor, Movistar's Fusion.

Google searches for Vodafone increased by 22%.

22% more traffic to Vodafone.es

Facebook engagement: 14.994 (Likes, share, comments, views, clicks)

And twitter: 9.138 (Retweets, Favorites, Replies, Follows, clicks, views)

Strategy

In 2015 Vodafone launched ONE in Spain, a cutting-edge technology that combines fiber, mobile and TV in one product. Historically, Vodafone has been the company to provide consumers access to the latest in technology (4G, HD Voice, PayByMobile...), meaning it was essential to further leverage this brand territory in the new product’s communication.

To communicate the unlimited power that this new technology puts in your hands, we compared it with the greatest feat accomplished by mankind thanks to technology: landing on the moon. And featuring one of its heroes: Alan Bean, pilot of Apollo XII.

Since 1969, only 12 men have reached the moon. But now, thanks to ONE, thousands of people could do so. Our site lets everyone see the moon live, and up-close, as only Alan Bean and few others have. From any device, wherever they are, proving that with ONE, "Power to you" becomes "Unlimited Power to you".
