Description
We created a school program to teach children through a box of skin colored pencils and a short story, that we are all equal regardless the color of our skin.
Execution
we took 6 colors that represented the different skin tones, then we strategically designed a box that showed the different colors over the drawing of a boy and a girl, and created a short story: The adventures of Lupe and Rigoberta.
This story was about the adventures our two characters had traveling, they learned about the various skin tones that identify the different razes of the world.
The result: School kit designed for an amazing purpose: to fight racial discrimination.
Outcome
The impact school supplies can create was taken to another level with our kit, through Skin Colors children intensify everyday the importance of accepting their differences and by this it helped prevent future violence.
By being a simple kit made by a box of colors and a small story, it was easy to implement in every school sponsored by the Pies Descalzos Foundation, and make that thousands of kids with low resources stopped using the traditional pink color.
