On the one hand, the IFAW Seal Automat creates awareness about the brutal slaughter of seals, but, above all, it directly allows anyone to become a rescuer of seals and persuades the target group to react with a donation to IFAW. In this way, the participant is actively included in rescuing seals and can also be acquired as a future IFAW supporter.
Outcome
The first slot machine was installed in 2004 at the Sea Life Centre Timmendorfer Strand. Average number of games per week: 60-70 games. Average level of donations per week: €130 (US$174).
