Catcalling and street harassment have become commonplace in the Philippines. A Senator had proposed a bill to fight this, but there has been little conversation about it. Spark Philippines, one of the country’s leading women’s rights organizations, wanted to generate support for it. Teaming up with Spotify, the leading mobile music service provider in the Philippines, we created a radio spot specifically designed for earphones, to bring attention to this important issue. The spot first simulates the normal sights and sounds in Manila. But midway through it, an announcer will tell the listeners to remove one of their earphones. Upon removing it, they will be exposed to the

offensive chatter they ignored in the background. So while they were busy tuning out, someone was being harassed. The spot ends with a call to support the bill by visiting the site.
