Background
Appliance maker Beko asked us to help design their vision for the connected home of 2025. We started not with technology, but with a simple human story, to stay firmly grounded in emotion, in surprise and delight. We imagined an interface that responds to our needs as if by magic. Appearing when required. Invisible when not. Surfaces not screens. A controlling intelligence connecting all devices, yet simple and intuitive enough for a child to use. With a touch of humor.
Description
The film itself shows Beko’s point of view on the future of the home and how easy and seamless experiences will enhance everyday lives. We helped create a connected home strategy based on a human-centred design approach by designing a range of future products. We designed a future interface. We shot a 3-minute vision film where two kids interact with technology so seamless it seems magical.
Execution
Beko wanted to showcase their vision of tomorrow's connected home. We helped create a connected home strategy based on a human-centred design approach. We designed a range of future products. We designed a future interface. We shot a 3-minute vision film where two kids interact with technology so seamless it seems magical. We built a website where you can sign up to co-create this future. And we helped Beko kickstart a debate around the Internet of Things as it starts to go mainstream, reminding the industry to focus on human needs, rather than technology for the sake of it.
