Description
There is a lot to be proud of in Russia Beyond the Capitals so with the help of Google Search and Maps we found people stories that with love for their region and project do change the country around them. Together we make their achievements famous across the whole country.
Execution
We announced the project with an online video about 5 flagship projects from
all across Russia (Yakutsk, Kamchatka, Ekaterinburg, Sibai and Kolomna). Anyone
could visit the project micro-site with a Google Map of local achievements, to explore
hundreds of projects or nominate their own project.
When the submission period was over we launched public voting through Google Search for their favourite projects across 6 nominations. It was supported with the help of
influencers project ambassadors. The winners would get the chance to make their projects
famous.
Finally the winners got together in Google office in Moscow for official award ceremony press conference to get well deserved recognition from the federal press. // NTV channel Komsomolskaya Pravda newspaper became project media partners and reported to masses constantly on all stages of the project.
Last but not least, we used standard Reach instruments in internet: Banners, Prerolls, Instagram stories, Social posts etc.
Outcome
3.4 billion impressions. Beyond the Capitals received
1140 articles with 54% of articles featuring Google in the headline.
Over 26 M people contacted. 77% said that the advert was unique in that it differs from other search engines. 82% said the advert was informative and understandable.
Estimated coverage in Social Networks - 26 Million users.
Beyond the Capitals Viral reach in social media was 4M with 90% of posts mentioning Google.
Through 5 federal media partners the campaign received impressive media coverage 60+ articles with total reach around 700m. 50+ posts in SoMe with 15M potential audience.
5 celebrities joined project as jury: businessman Fedor Ovchinnikov, musician Ilya Lagutenko, producer and film director Egor Konchalovsky, TV-anchor Vadim Takmenev and YouTube-blogger Wylsacom. 4 celebs took part in the promo campaign. They all supported 'Beyond the capitals' on non-commercial basis and published 25 posts in their social nets with potential audience 8M+.
