We rerecorded the original sessions with Grammy-winning producer Carl Jackson and some of today’s top artists, such as Dolly Parton, Sheryl Crow, Brad Paisley and others. We documented these recordings, and filmed cinematic reenactments of the 1927 sessions, weaving the past and present into a full-length film.

The album, “Orthophonic Joy: The 1927 Bristol Sessions Revisited,” was launched in 2015 through Sony Legacy Recordings. The film debuted several months later as a special screening at the Nashville Film Festival.

The album was highly commended and even received Grammy consideration. The film debuted at the Nashville Film Festival to critical acclaim. We are currently in negotiations with several networks to air it around the world as pure content, involving no media expenditures from Tennessee. Through both music and film, we are inspiring a new generation of music lovers to come explore the roots of American music in Tennessee.
