Description

Females in the Balkans are regard as weaker sex, in rural areas usually do not work and do not have the financial means to be independent from men. This leads to sex trafficking.

Women from all over East are transported via Serbia towards Wester Europe, where they forced to work as sex slaves.

Women are frightened and do not have the means to free themselves.

Red Cross of Serbia wanted to raise awareness of sex trafficking and cut trafficking chain going from East through Serbia to Western Europe.

We created a special digital device, button with a camera, and placed it in female toilets in gas station along the highway leading to the boarder with EU.

When woman feels she is a victim of sex trafficking, she presses the button in the toilet and her picture and exact location is sent to boarder police.

Boarder police can act and arrest male suspects of sex traficking.

Execution

Red Cross wants to empower women. To give them tools to make a change in their lives. To let women feel independent and as strong as their male counterparts. Red Cross want to help women stop being afraid.

Our camping targets female sex trafficking victims in one rare place where they are alone - female toilets.

The device is easy to use, one click to freedom. Women know they are alone and that their kidnappers will not see them taking the action, boosting women courage to do something and change the situation.

Outcome

This campaign has an immediate impact allowing female trafficking victims to alert boarder police on their situation and that they are approaching the boarded. Police can act and arrest the kidnappers.

Currently this device is working in Serbia but we will it can be used in other countries in Eastern Europe as well as in other parts of the world where sex trafficking takes place.

Our desired result is that all gas stations as well as nightclub, discos and strip bars install this device, button, in female toilets which will allow women to alert the police if they feel they are victims of sex trafficking.

Ultimately we wish to give women tool to get out of trafficking world, empowering them to make a change.
