Description

The TVC, “Chase the Pin,” sees the JUKE carrying out wakeboard and snowboard style moves,

as the vehicle moves through the city. The commercial highlights Nissan’s latest innovation,

Google™ Send-to-Car that allows the driver to send Google Maps information to your car

remotely.

Execution

We shot in LA with two cars by night.

We used live special effects for 80% of the car shots with a lot of grip constructions in order to always get the right reflexions on the car, then we erased these grips tools by compositing. We used a car in 3D when the the juke is riding on the tunnel walls and when the car is jumping on top of the big building at the end.

We had to also reshape the Walt Disney Hall in 3D for a rights clearance. We sometimes changed the backgrounds with matt painting either in 2D or 3D.

We used in camera special effects when the pin is hitting the ground, then we reworked it with compositing.
