Description

The first comedy festival of Vilnius was about to take place, and it was going to be very funny – so funny that you could even die from laughter. In that case, we wanted the people of Vilnius to be prepared in a way that was both serious and fun. We came up with a church on wheels – an unusual event that would immediately catch people’s eye. The church stopped at crowded public places, conveniently giving people their last blessings before dying from laughter and selling them tickets to the actual festival.

Execution

We reconstructed an old trailer cheaply into a little church. The church stopped at different public places throughout Vilnius, and a comedian dressed up as a priest interacted with passersby. Confused people were asked to get their last blessings as soon as possible. Those who did were even more surprised by the same priest offering to buy tickets to the comedy festival.

Outcome

The Church On Wheels generated a tremendous amount of earned media, including the attention of the biggest news portals. People even lined up to receive their ‘last sacrament.’ Social networks were covered with selfies of people with our priests, receiving their ‘last sacrament’ before visiting the Vilnius comedy festival.
