Background

The brief and objective was to bring attention to Meow Wolf Denver’s grand opening through original content that expanded reality and the creative boundaries. With the help of multiple marketing executions leading up to the launch of the film, Convergence Station sold out of first week tickets overnight.

Idea

With a mind bending product (a psychedelic art exhibit about the convergence of multiple alternate realities) we had to keep the execution simple enough to be easily followed but mental enough to take advantage of all the head-wrecking fun of multiverse theory.

So, we came up with the idea of a tourism campaign about all the fun possibilities of travel … but to alternate dimensions and timelines.

This film is all about the exotic appeal of vintage travel ads but with a multiversal twist, romancing the opportunity to travel between dimensions, to visit other realities, to meet different versions of yourself?

Strategy

In September 2022, Meow Wolf launched their most ambitious exhibition to date in Denver: Convergence Station.

Our ambition was to make Convergence Station the most anticipated opening in Denver and create a hyper-local campaign that would have the power to attract visitors from all over.

Blending the themes of exploration, memory, migration and most importantly travel, Convergence Station’s aim was to show that movement is how new worlds are discovered and new cultures established.

And while we didn’t want to reveal the experience itself, we did want to invite visitors as travelers to embark on the interdimensional adventure of a lifetimes, and join us in an otherworldly travel experience.

Using Meow Wolf’s psychedelic credentials, we created an in-fiction campaign that brought to life the first ever interdimensional travel hub, where exploration and memory and alternate realities and dimension converge, and encouraged all visitors to “Have a Nice Trip!”

Execution

Teasers were launched on social media over the course of two weeks, leading up to the release of the full length music video. The music video was released a few weeks before the grand opening of Meow Wolf Denver, which sold out opening weekend in overnight success.

Outcome

Convergence Station was slowly released through teasers on social media, with the final 2min film launched both online and on social. With an impressive +2mil views online and over eleven thousand views on social media, Convergence Station went on to sell out the first week in minutes.
