Description

We created a digital platform for users to make their feelings known to someone specific through advertisements. To make it available to all those filled with love, we used the power of personalisation and programmatic advertising. The platform enabled users to create personalized banner ads and create a link to share with their loved one. When the receiver clicked it they just read an interesting article in Onedio (Buzzfeed equivalent in Turkey) but their browser was cookied so we could target them with the personalized banners later, across all display inventory. In order to improve our message banner visibility we used many preferred deals and bid very aggressively for retargeting purposes.

Execution

The platform enabled users to create personalized banner ads and create a link to share with their loved one. To improve our message and banner visibility we bid very aggressively for retargeting purposes.

Let’s take Can as an example. He wants to confess his love to Ece. He visits our microsite and creates a personalized banner including the names, message, icons and colors. Then he takes the link we generate for him and sends it to Ece. The link is a regular Onedio link which includes cats & dogs and star signs which is used to cookie Ece’s computer. This is how we retargeted Ece in almost all over web with Can’s personalized banner.

Outcome

More than 30,000 unique banners were created and shown. This was unprecedented for any campaign.

On the launch day we reached 5 million people through social media and programmatic media. The personalized banners were shown through over 50 million programmatically bought impressions in the campaign, enabling young people to get their messages across. Thanks to Cornetto, more people were able to take the first step and we were able to fill the world with more love.
