Background

Cars advertisements usually show young people driving in a sporty way. For Road Safety Month in the Philippines, Mitsubishi Motors wanted to reassure people that its lineup of vehicles is built to truly protect and preserve life on the road for a whole lifetime.

Mitsubishi Motors released posters showing crash-less, senior citizen dummies. Unlike other crash test dummies, the brand’s crash test dummies continued to fulfill their duties until they aged on the job. They are still driving because they have been kept safe behind the wheels of Mitsubishi vehicles all this time.

Outcome

A week before Road Safety Month, these posters were gradually rolled out in key cities where Mitsubishi dealerships are present. With 63 dealership branches all over the country, the posters helped raise awareness of the importance of driving road-worthy vehicles and driving safely on the road. These placements were also complemented by print ads in two leading Philippine newspapers - The Manila Bulletin and The Philippine Star.

While Mitsubishi as a brand is known for style and performance, these posters reminded people that Mitsubishi vehicles comply with safety standards to keep them protected while driving.
