Description

Almost all the Egyptian terms used in cars (car parts) or in driving are originated for the French language. Not only car parts, but in fact a lot of Egyptian words are originated from French.

For ages the French language is embedded in the Egyptian culture, to the extent that lots of Egyptian words are originated from the French language, especially when it comes to cars. As almost all the Egyptian terms used in cars(car parts)or in driving behaviors are originated from the French language.

In another words the French language is the official car language in Egypt.

During the film we stated this fact, by showing different car parts and driving behaviors, in a modern technique, with a very Egyptian look and feel.

All the subtitles are written in French using a striking yellow color, hearing the Arabic pronunciation of each car part, said by real Egyptian people not

Execution

The campaign was launched on September 25th 2015 on Youtube and Renault Egypt’s Facebook page. A day later, the Ad was launched on 7 different TV channels with 3000 spots over a spam of 2 months. The campaign achieved a reach of 55% and a 13% share of voice.

Outcome

Within hours of the launch, the film reached 36.5K organic views on Facebook.

Total views: 410K.

The hashtag ????????????????# "AlArabeya_AlFerenseya" (Usually written in Arabic) quickly became trending as people started sharing words we use in our daily life that are originated from the French language.

The campaign was also reviewed, receiving positive feedback, by multiple online marketing magazines such as Think Marketing and Marketeers.

Renault’s sales in 2015 achieved outstanding targets (especially after the campaign launch). The sales reached a total of 20,000 cars and almost doubling 2014’s sales, which were 11,800 cars.
