Description

NEURO_SURGE" is one of the answer for it —a large-size monument of about 9 meters tall through the colonnade of SHISEIDO Ginza Building from 1st to 2nd floor. It is made by 150 optical fibers that changes the light effects.

The other is an "INTERACTIVE WALL", a stretch screen of 9 meters wide and 5 meters tall. By touching and pushing screen, it represents images on its surface. It brings an experience that customers feel as if they are activating theirselves.

With delicacy and boldness, these installations expressed the complex way everything was intertwined. They were a visualization of the information transmission of sensory nerves of consumers.

Theses installations were exhibited from Nov. 7th - Dec. 8th 2017.

The launch events for overseas press and important customers were held in first 10 days, after that it was opened to the public and many visitors enjoyed the installations for free.

Execution

NEURO SURGE:Laser light is delivered to 150 optical fibers each by RGB laser modules.

Each of RGB signals is sent individually through the controlling modules and managed by openFrameworks.

By touching an iron ball in front of the installation, static electricity is generated on the surface of the ball. A sensor module detects that and sends signal to software via LAN cable.

Then the fibers change their colors and motions for 4 patterns.

INTERACTIVE WALL: It is a pair of 9-meter wide and 5-meter tall screens on both sides of a passage.

These are made by custom-made stretch fabric which is very smooth and soft.When touched or pushed, kinect set on the back of screen senses the movement.

Then it sends signal to PC and the image on the screen changes in sync with the motion.

People feel comfortable by touching screen and experience as if they are activating themselves.

Outcome

We succeeded in explaining this products' philosophy and innovation not only descriptively but also visually.

All of our visitors —important customers from all over the world, overseas press and visitors to experience and understand this products' innovative neuroscience technology.
