Execution
We wanted to show the source of FIJI water in all its glory, but the legendary aquifer is sealed hundreds of feet below the surface of the earth, out of reach of photographers. For our solution, we resurrected a technique often seen in epic films like Raiders of the Lost Ark—matte painting. We created seven original, richly-textured images to create an immersive scrolling experience that tells Fiji’s story, starting in the clouds and descending to the aquifer. To amplify the immersive experience, we commissioned original sound design and music that would dynamically generate at the pace of the user's exploration.
Outcome
The numbers show that we captured users’ attention and kept them interested. The new site has far less text, but visitors actually spent 404% more time engaged with the story of the FIJI’s origins.
More significantly, sales of FIJI Water increased by over 10% without any TV, radio, or outdoor ad support.
Our Earth's Finest digital magazine has visited over 10 different global destinations, and been read by hundreds of thousands of unique fans around the world. Our recent tumblr launch has gained over 15,000 followers organically in the last few months.
