In México is a very well-known custom to touch fruits in order to know if they are in good conditions, which is the basic principle to practice a breast self-exam. Taking advantage of this knowledge, we stick labels on fruits in a supermarket with the caption: "You know when something it's good. Do your breast self-exam and help prevent breast cancer" By doing it we raised awareness of how easy is to perform this test.
Outcome
Millions of Mexican women were informed that performing a breast self-exam is as simple as picking out fruit and they quickly understood the idea.
The cost of this idea was almost null and the results were worth it since millions of women were made aware because of a few stickers.
