To do this, we created unique, limited edition adidas shirts, which seemed plain black from the outside.
However, when the team scored, in true football fashion, the supporters could pull the jersey over their head – revealing a skull printed on the underside of the jersey, along with the bones on the sleeves.
This turned our huge block of supporters into the club’s icon, and made them the envy of every other Pirates supporter.
Outcome
At a game attended by over 80,000 supporters, our fans were the envy of the crowd.
Not to mention being featured on television, broadcast to the entire football watching community of Southern Africa.
