The brief - and challenge - was to find young couples who could authentically portray the excitement and emotions of first love with natural on-camera chemistry, while representing a range of ethnicities, cultures, and sexual orientations. We wanted to showcase the role of Google products in facilitating their relationship, enhancing our relationships and emotional lives.

To meet the casting brief, we conducted a nationwide search and extensive auditions to find couples who communicate the joy and complexity of young love. We prioritized diversity and authenticity in our selections to accurately represent our audience's varied experiences and identities. Ultimately, we found two young women that embodied the ad's spirit and communicated the joy of new love.

Young Love shares the story of two young women in New York brought together by chance and technology with the assistance of the Google Translate feature on the new Google phone. The whirlwind story takes us through the highs of falling in love for the first time, pushing into the delicate, beautiful moments of that experience.
