Description
Our Hilton Viewfinders invited people along for a virtual vacation. We created scenic viewfinders equipped with virtual reality to transport people from the streets of New York City to the beaches of Barbados. To heighten the virtual reality experience, we also added beach sounds and coconut scent to the Viewfinders.
As 360 video becomes more common, especially for travel advertising, the industry will look for innovative ways to deliver that content, such as live brand experiences like this one.
Execution
On an average weekday in March, the Hilton Viewfinders were placed in two locations in New York City—Union Square and Bryant Park—for about 12 hours. Later in the year, they’ll travel the globe to bring this experience to different markets.
Outcome
This execution succeeded in reaching thousands of passers by and hundreds of participants, many of whom shared their experience on social media. The experience was even featured on the local news that evening.
