Gen Z has heard the manifestos, chants, scripts and covered tracks—and the tracks that weren’t covered, but reapplied to the current time nonetheless— all before.

As the brand that embraces self-expression, that champions fearlessly being yourself, how could Instagram show that we weren’t just there to pretend to mirror them—but to actually hear them?

As we set out to launch “Yours to Make,” we knew the most important thing we could do in this moment was not tell them who they were or what they should do: instead, we should listen.

So we created a soundscape. One that was made from the thoughts and voices—questions and answers—this generation had of themselves and each other. Captured from actual conversations with our film’s talent.

What emerged is not so much a track, but a time capsule in sonic form. That captured the curiosity, sense of humor, worries, and reassurances of a generation.
