Description

We decided to choose one of our followers at random and make them feel like #1InAMillion by surprising them throughout the day with personalised messages from the ITV Family.

Execution

We chose our follower at random, and set out to give our #1InAMillion follower, Zoe Molloy a day she would never forget. It began with a video message on our account from Lorraine asking what she had for breakfast, and when a slightly perplexed Zoe responded, we continued the conversation on not just the ITV twitter account, but Loraines feed too. This continued across the day as we peppered conversations from our feeds and talent feeds with tweets, video’s and images that were specific for Zoe, and that made her feel like like #1InAMillion

Outcome

#1InAMillion trended uk wide, led to 7,000 new followers for the ITV Twitter feed and 800,000 impressions. It even led to Zoe being independently invited to watch the XFactor auditions by someone who worked on the show who had seen the activity. But most importantly, it gave one of our followers a day they will never forget, and made them feel #1InAMillion.
