Execution

We needed an instant messaging, real time, trustworthy platform through which we could recruit Jeep drivers to help save animal lives. WhatsApp was chosen because of its high usage (92% of smartphone users in Israel use WhatsApp), reliability and real time notifications.

Those who joined received live notifications about animals in distress requiring immediate evacuation, posted by the Wildlife rangers with the specific geo-location of the wounded animal.

If a Jeep Club member was able to come to the rescue, they contacted the ranger via WhatsApp and arranged to transport the injured animal to Israel’s National Wildlife Hospital.

Outcome

We created a life-saving platform to solve an ongoing wildlife issue for years to come; especially around high-traffic peaks during roaming seasons. We achieved a response rate of 15% Club Members who were actively involved in rescuing animals.

Through this exclusive ‘do good’ WhatsApp group, we enabled Jeep Club members to engage with a socially worthwhile activity reflecting their values.
