No one knows an identity crisis better than John Malkovich. So who better to communicate that universal moment of panic when you realize that your own name as a domain is gone? Part 2 - "Calling John Malkovich.com" followed up from the previous commercial and ran during Super Bowl half time and online. After discovering his own name as a domain was taken, John Malkovich calls the other John Malkovich to ask for it back.
Execution
Squarespace partnered with John Malkovich to tell his inspiring true-to-life story of making his next move at 63, from Actor to Fashion Designer. The centre piece of content was John’s Journey film launching his new menswear business on Squarespace.
The initiative was not an ad campaign but a mutually beneficial partnership that would promote John’s new business and seamlessly prove the power of the Squarespace web platform. Instead of traditional celebrity talent fees for an ad campaign, John received an integrated campaign promoting his new business on Squarespace
