Chad Kroeger, the lead singer of the band Nickelback, croons the infamous lyrics, “Look at this photograph” as he lifts up a Pixel phone with a photo of him and a friend. This scene is a nod to the original “Photograph” music video, released in 2005, but updated with a smartphone.

Right after, we hop into what appears to be Chad Kroeger’s Google Photos app. Chad proceeds to take a stroll down memory lane with Google Photos. As he scrolls through old memories, Chad sings updated lyrics poking fun at himself over the years and embracing some of the popular Nickelback memes (“Is that my hair or just a ramen bowl?”).

The spot ends on the super, “Look at your photographs” and the Google Photos logo as we zoom out to a photo of Chad holding a Pixel device in the same scene as the original music video.
