Description
We’re more connected than ever, but the truth is that we still find it hard to engage in conversation with those around us.
The park, cafes, and bookstores are the kinds of places we experience every day. Yet, in movies, they are classic set-ups for encounters. Of course, in Hollywood these environments have the benefit of a script, a director and maybe even a narrator guiding the actors towards one another. We simply took the narrator and transplanted him into real life.
This experiment has proven that connecting with people isn’t that hard. We just need a little help. Like a Mentos to offer...because after all, Who Says No To Mentos?
Execution
Watching movies would give anyone the impression that making friends was easy. In real life, it’s considerably harder to approach people and start conversations. But what if we gave them a little help?
We rigged up a cafe with speakers and hid a real-life movie narrator in a back room.
He could see everything that was happening. Our movie narrator guided unsuspecting members of the public through every interaction as if they were characters in a movie about friendship.
In the end our narrator proved the Mentos philosophy – that connecting is easy with a little help - whether it’s in the form of a movie narrator or a Mentos to offer.
