Description

How does it feel to be famous? How does it feel to be mobbed by fans? To be given a standing ovation? Or grab the attention of paparazzi? Unsuspecting students are given a taste of stardom by a group of thirty hired actors posing as fans, and paparazzi. These “fans” mob, applaud and take photographs of these students as if they’re big rock stars. These pranks, with the spontaneous reactions of the students, are captured on video and loaded into the net. The segments end with actors holding up a board with the words, “HANDAKANABASUMIKAT.COM” (“Handa Ka Na Bang Sumikat?” translates to “Are You Ready For Fame?”) When viewers of the video log on to this address, they will be redirected to the official website of NESCAFÉ Soundskool—a competition among the top college bands from all over the Philippines.
