Description
“Help us turn our out-dated betting magazine ‘Oddset Newspaper’ into a profitable business” was the task we were set by Oddset. Production and distribution costs were high; subscriptions were in rapid decline. Our approach was to see things through the eyes of the betting consumer. Our advice saw Oddset Newspaper being reinvented into a utility-based app solution that would drive engagement, frequency and sales and substantially reduce costs.
Listening to the consumers enabled us to give betters what they wanted. Our insight sessions quickly identified mobile and social as key elements. Our objective was to socialize the betting experience and provide customers with a data-driven application which would enrich their experience when discussing, watching and betting on sports.
The costly newspaper was shuttered and we created the “Oddset app”. A content based app feeding on numerous social plug-ins and feeds from various content providers. This enabled us to launch an app which was filled with functions such as “follow your team”, “share your bet with friends”, “get feedback on your planned bets”, “follow experts”, “get game community predictions”, and “advanced game statistics”. This was just the beginning, around the app we build an entire mobile ecosystem. We amplified the app by exporting the essential content from the app, making our solution scalable. We secured exclusive partnerships with the leading Danish sports applications and mobile sites. Thereby we were able to integrate our content into the largest mobile sports platforms in the market securing us a strategic advantage and an enormous amount of mobile traffic. Furthermore we utilized the clients existing sponsorship of the leading Danish football clubs to integrate the setup into the clubs respective mobile platforms and thereby securing an even wider distribution of the “oddest app” and the client's content.
Our solution has socialized the betting experience and made it possible for customers to place a much more qualified bet by giving them access to the right information and right people at the right time. By building a mobile ecosystem around the “Oddset app”, we have tapped into our customers’ mobile behavior, provided them with a state-of-the-art betting utility and succeeded in locking out competitors from key mobile platforms.

- Every single day our mobile ecosystem delivers more than 35% of the total traffic at Oddsets m.commerce platform
- 300% lift in mobile traffic
- Mobile revenue from increased by 400%
