Timed precisely for the official start, when the Volkswagen-chairmen Piëch and Winterkorn delivered their speeches, an airplane pulling a huge banner appeared and flew right over the area. On the banner you could see the Opel Corsa OPC and the Headline: „Unfortunately awesome“.
Everybody who was wearing such a T-Shirt suddenly and involuntarily became a testimonial for Opel. Above all, there was another surprise waiting for them: Under the disco lights of the parties around, the Opel logo which was invisible in the daylight, suddenly appeared on the backs of the shirts
Outcome
As intented there was huge excitement – as well as the public’s amusement and the success of the party crashing which could be seen in great TV, press and online coverage – free media worth more than 100.00 Euro.
