Description

The spot features a pint-sized Darth Vader walking around his house attempting to use "The Force" on various inanimate objects and a dog without success. When his father pulls into the driveway in his VW Passat, mini-Darth runs out to the driveway to once again try and harness the Force. Mom and Dad watch from the kitchen and Dad hits the remote-start button on the key chain which revs up the engine of the Passate and startles little Darth. He whips his head around to look back at the house as if to say "Did I really just do that?!?"The :60 spot debuted on YouTube a couple days prior to the Super Bowl and was an instant viral hit - amassing more than 12.5 million views before the :30 appeared on the Super Bowl. It was widely regarded as the most successful spot of the big game and maybe one of the most successful commercials ever. The :60 version debuted on national television during the Grammy Awards.It has inspired remakes with little kids on YouTube and is even parodied in a new viral trailer for the upcoming film Thor.
