Description

Early 2015, we interviewed four cancer patients who volunteered to participate in a project called “Portraits of Dreams.”

We asked cancer patients a simple question: “What kind of life would you dream about if your cancer was cured?

The answers to this question were brought to life in stunning visuals, crafted out of the hair these cancer patients lost during chemotherapy sessions. Their lost hair was distilled into liquid, which was then used as paint by artists to produce truly unique art pieces. We then displayed this collection of “Dream Portraits” at a prominent art gallery in Bangkok, and the proceeds earned from selling these paintings were used to finance chemotherapy treatments for cancer patients in need.

The exhibition attracted 200,000 visitors daily, 60% were locals and 40% were tourists. Online News, articles including posts on Facebook and Instagram were generated online reaching over 10 million readers. A prime-time special scope on a TV program including several free reports on a top ten radio channel helped promote about the event gained free media worth of 15 million baht. But the most important thing was the proceed from selling all art pieces helped another 120 patients to realize their dream of having treatments.
