Description

Products of Tomorrow is a Facebook webstore of products created from a realistic picture of the future on Earth.

A bottle of low-acidic rain water.

An apple made with 3% real fruit.

A sunscreen with 350+ FPS.

Each one of them carries a sign that represents the three major consequences of the global warming:

lack of water, soil infertility, temperature increase.

Products of Tomorrow are a simple, yet very sensorial, message to touch people by something they value a lot: their own lives.

The products design took ordinary products to the luxury universe, due to the imminent crisis we will pass through the next few decades.

Through a mix of retro and futurism, the campaign explored the feeling of nostalgia from a generation who won’t have access to simple pleasures we take for granted today.

Execution

It all starts from Facebook posts published by The Nature Conservancy Fan Page.

Each one of them brought out a specific product, being promoted by a sensorial film that explores the bright side of a dystopian world. A world similar, but different from the one we have today.

The films took people straight to our webstore, all based on the Facebook platform.

There, they could get a better knowledge of the consequences of the global warming on their lives.

Each product has an estimated date to be delivered, based on real projections of the future on Earth.

By pre-ordering it, people were also spreading our message on their own profiles.

And that’s how it became viral.

Outcome

The initiative got 30 million people reached in the first two months.

578% increase in Facebook community activity.
