Description

“Who are the best eleven football players in the world?”

In the world of football, this is the type of question that inspires endless debate and the occasional pub fight.

So in the interest of world peace, or at the risk of getting a bloody nose, we sent the comedian, Lloyd Griffith on the road to settle the matter once and for all.

He spoke to some of the great minds of the game. People like the scout who found Messi, Gary Neville, Ryan Giggs and even Lionel Messi himself. He quizzed a stat guru, a sport psychologist and hung out with a score-predicting llama named Nicholas. Unfortunately Paul the Octopus was dead or he totally would have made the cut.

The result was a fun and entertaining half hour of football nerdery called THE QUEST FOR THE BEST.

Execution

The full documentary launched on Sky Sports TV in the UK on January 5. Integrated into Sky’s TV schedule, it aired four times and was also available on the channel's ‘On Demand’ function.

The following day the documentary was revealed on EA SPORT FIFA’s social channels to their 23 million fans, on YouTube and via influencer strategy.

Outcome

Total YouTube Views: 1.909 million

Youtube rate of engagement was 96% higher than EA Sport FIFA’s channel average.

And this was the first time branded content for EA Sports FIFA ran as programming content on Sky Sports, with total views of 5.5million on Sky Sports and combines video views of 7.4million.
