We created Heineken Replay, a second screen interaction, to boost the viewing experience. We created Replays of the finals best plays in real time. But Heineken's replays weren't ordinary: we built a miniature stadium and hands were painted as players. Everything was filmed on mobile using Vine and consumers interacted on Twitter. Behind the scenes shots were posted to Instagram.
Outcome
Heineken Replay helped raise the connection between Heineken and UEFA Champions League by 53% compared to the previous final. It became one of Twitters top 5 best engagement campaigns of all time. And increased brand mentions by over 500% on Twitter.
