Sawamninjah.org is a charity dedicated to tackling the abuse of some of the 200,000 foreign domestic workers in Lebanon. Most are women and many end up physically and sexually abused, being locked away for months by their employers. This makes it almost impossible for charity workers to reach them. So we found a unique solution. We wrote radio ads in languages only the domestic workers understood. Each was disguised with leisure and lifestyle themes that would appeal to women. This allowed us to break into their employers homes and deliver a secret message of hope to the workers.
