Description

Each year, 46 million children are exposed to violent events in their homes, schools and communities. And, according to new research, just witnessing these events can physically damage their brains. Further, the research shows that the simple gestures of a caring adult can actually reverse this damage.

Changing Minds is the first national campaign to raise awareness and generate public action to address this epidemic in the U.S. It inspires teachers, coaches and social workers to get involved in traumatized kids’ lives — healing them, both emotionally and physically. To that end, our Reunited Films series tells the stories of former childhood trauma victims who are reunited with the mentors who changed their lives. The documentaries ran on the Changing Minds website and on social media, inspiring users to heal kids they know. The films were launched late last year at the White House. And today, they’re changing minds everywhere.
