Execution

Samsung built upon and invested in 'So You Think You Can Pitch'. This campaign-competition encouraged the youth of Portugal to discover their inner entrepreneurs. Using boot camp-style workshops, we provided mentoring to finalists looking to improve upon their pitches. Those who participated also received invaluable advice and council from some of the Portugal’s top CEO’s.

During the campaign, we offered participants and viewers at home practical guidance and training by sharing videos and broadcasting live results on Facebook and Twitter. Public figures and key influencers got in on the action by sharing the entire project in their social media feeds and blogs.

Samsung products (TV’s and tablets) featured heavily in all the feeds, and jurors voted on Samsung tablets. Candidates who made it to the finale also received a Samsung Note.

Outcome

Samsung achieved 60% unaided awareness and grew 29.1% in brand preference, achieving first place in its product category. Samsung was featured in 12 media titles, 30 blogs and one TV prime-time news programme. One affiliate is making a documentary programme dedicated to So Pitch, generating more than €500,000 in free media advertising.

Most importantly, So Pitch has produced 547 mentoring meetings, 8 trainee positions, 7 direct recruitments, 10 jobs for freelancers, 13 company partnerships and 2 start-up companies. Along the way Samsung became a 'visionary brand', helping our audience increase their knowledge, show off their talent & rally their communities.
