Execution

Cynthia directed and shot (acting as cameraperson some of the times and working with her documentary crew), and delivered the film in 6 weeks total. She shot the film in November and December 2013. The film premiered at the Women at Sundance Brunch in Park City in January 2014 (during the Sundance Film Festival). The film went ‘viral’ and has gotten over 6 million views, and landed Cynthia on the TODAY show twice, once with teen girls talking about beauty and insecurity, and once with moms.

Outcome

The results were candid, genuine responses from a generation that is constantly bombarded by opportunities and expectations to share themselves on a digital level. We achieved our goal of a film that resonated with viewers, so much so that the film went viral over the course of a few days and
