Singer, Seal, takes to the outdoor stage to perform his international hit, 'Kiss from a Rose.' Fans sing in harmony as Seal belts out his classic hit, when out of nowhere, he is unexpectedly greeted by an overzealous fan - a shark. We're left with the reminder, "It's Still A Bad Week To Be A Seal" during Shark Week."
Execution
This creative ran across Discovery Channel in key premieres, finales and specials-driving to their biggest week of the year from Memorial Day to late July. The creative was used to kickoff the campaign with a big splash, and continue the buzz up through the premiere. To gain an even broader audience, Discovery placed this creative on their sister networks in key placements and run of schedule. Garnering almost 700 on-air placements, not including support it received on YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, and countless press placements. Shark Week Seal was the top priority for the year and was promoted as such.
Outcome
We set out to create the ultimate buzz-worthy spot… and we did just that! Within days the spot raked in millions of views online and catapulted Shark Week 2017 to its highest-rated telecast ever.
