Description

This year (2015) in Spain Christmas and The General Election lie dangerously close together in the calendar. No sooner have we deposited our vote in the ballot box than we are taking the turkey out of the oven. Which is why Shackleton has devised and developed “Silent Night”, the only app that can detect words related to politics and avoid potentially awkward moments at the dinner table by suggesting new topics of conversation.

With a list of essential words for the current socio-economic and political climate in Spain such as “vote”, “independence”, “elections” or “change”, the app has an optimised voice recognition system that detects different voices and uses an algorithm to filter out ambient sounds and intervene during those heated moments at the Christmas dinner table when you could cut the atmosphere with a knife.

Execution

“Noche de Paz”, which is the Spanish original version of the app, is developed to fully optimise the performance and space occupied in a handset device, and is available for download at the App Store y Google Play. Its international/English version “Silent Night” incorporates words such as “Greeks”, “Taxes” and “Donald Trump”, with other words added in subsequent updates. And it´s also available for download at the App Store and Google Play
