We asked for authenticity, not parody. Unbeknownst to us, our music company had an ace in the hole—their composer was a former boy band member (Plus One). He provided 30 seconds of a giant, lavishly produced hit, and blew the competition away. When members of our team confessed to playing it in our cars, we knew we had something special, and requested the song be expanded to full length. We ended up releasing it (on the band’s “official” YouTube channel) to a viral, rabid fan base.
